Before mentioning last week’s news, I would like to take a moment to say goodbye to Bill Paxton, who passed away yesterday at the age of 61 due to a surgery. He was best known for movies such as Titanic, Aliens and Edge of Tomorrow, and on TV in Agents o SHIELD. Rest in peace, Bill.

Casting/Crew Announcements
  • Jennifer Garner joins the movie adaptation of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda as Simon’s mother (source)
  • Cars 3 will have some NASCAR stars voicing characters (source)
  • The Batman solo movie has a new director, after Ben Affleck dropped out of the project (will he be still playing Barman?): Matt Reeves (source)

  • Three Dark Crowns, by author Kendare Blake, has been optioned by Fox and Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy (source)
  • A Darker Shade of Magic has been option by Sony with producers Gerard Butler and the Neal Moritz Team; V.E. Schwab will be attached to the project (source)
  • Finally, Nightwing will have his own film (live-action) with Chris McKay directing it (source)
  • The shooting for the Han Solo spin-off has started and we have our first look at the cast all together (source)
